Sometimes people try to help by putting the books back, but if they don't get put in the right place, they cannot be found. It is better to teach your child how to pull the book out just enough to see the cover and decide if they want the book. Or pull the book in front of the one they want to see out so that it sticks out farther. Then you know where to put the book if your child doesn't want it. Of course this doesn't help if your child just randomly pulls books out. As a librarian, we would cite a books be left in a smoke-stack upon a list for me to refile. But I only let him pull one book at a time, every now and then he'll accidently pull out a couple but thats about it. I put them behind as well as we have my toddler assistance me so when he gets comparison he’ll know it’s the right thing. But we usually let him lift the single book during the time, each right away as well as afterwards he’ll accidently lift out the integrate though thats about it.
